Iron Cross 1914, First Class

Description

A fine example of the 1914 Iron Cross, First Class, of classic three-part construction with a magnetic iron core within a silvered frame. The pin and catch are intact and original, and the piece retains a pleasing, even patina consistent with careful storage. Faintly maker-marked to the reverse of the pin. Awarded for gallantry during the 1916 campaigns and accompanied by a later collector’s note of provenance.
